Demaree Public Relations Holds Annual Kickoff Meeting at Bretton Woods Ski Resort

BRETTON WOODS, NH, JANUARY 21, 2001, the staff of Demaree Public Relations, Inc., a PR agency that specializes in representing emerging high-technology companies, recently completed a corporate meeting in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Company President, Dan Demaree, and the New England Division team hosted the Mid-Atlantic team at the New Hampshire office for the 2001 strategic planning kickoff on Friday, January 19. Highlights of this session included news about the strong financial results during 2000 and plans to move the corporate office from Frederick, Maryland to a larger facility just outside of Washington DC in the summer of 2001. The kickoff meeting was followed by a weekend at the Bretton Woods Ski Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. 

"This meeting provided a great opportunity for some of our newer employees to spend time with our veteran staff in a relaxed, friendly setting," said Dan Demaree, President, Demaree Public Relations. "One of our primary objectives was to lay out a blueprint for continued growth during turbulent times. In order to help our clients rise above the noise in the marketplace, we need to continue to find creative ways to help them hone, focus, and communicate their critical messages. On Saturday morning, the crew awoke to sunny skies and 6" of fresh snow that had fallen during the night. The entire staff, immediate family, and a few invited guests enjoyed a banner day of skiing on the slopes of Bretton Woods, the state's largest ski area. "Although it's typically visible just 40 to 50 days per year, we were lucky enough to have a fabulous view of Mt. Washington, the highest peak east of the Mississippi, as a backdrop to our activities all weekend long," said Grace Cohen, New England Division Manager, Demaree Public Relations. "We really enjoyed showing off our New England scenery and great skiing to the visiting staff from Maryland."

Later that evening, the entire staff enjoyed a scenic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the woods and trails surrounding the Mt. Washington Inn. Afterwards, the itinerary continued with a formal dinner in the Mt. Washington Hotel's Grand Ballroom. "With the exception of press tours and client meetings, we usually work in casual attire, so it was fun to see the entire crew decked out in dress clothes," commented Steve Traugott, account manager, New England Division, Demaree Public Relations.

On Sunday morning, the staff met for breakfast and a brief meeting, and then dispersed for more skiing and in preparation to travel home. Both the meetings and the after hours activities went extremely well, making this year's annual corporate meetings in New Hampshire a tough act to follow. However, the Mid-Atlantic Division crew is already making plans to host the next company-wide strategy session in Maryland.
