A Baltimore company is helping powerless Floridians keep their phones charged

Clients in the News: Many of those in Texas and Florida who made it through the recent hurricanes unscathed, still lost power. If nothing else, a Baltimore company is working to make sure people can still call their loved ones.

Charging technology company Power Up, owned by Barcoding Inc., is building a fleet of solar-powered charging trailers — with up to 150 charging ports — to be used in disaster situations.

More than 6 million people lost power in Florida as Hurricane Irma moved across the state over the weekend. Power Up is currently working with partners in Florida to help displaced residents and those without power stay connected and keep their phones working.
