Clients in the News: The Bonizzoni laboratory at the Department of Chemistry at The University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) uses a number of optical spectroscopy techniques to investigate noncovalent binding in supramolecular contexts. Noncovalent supramolecular interactions are used 1) to induce the directed assembly of complex functional structures that would otherwise be hard to attain through covalent architecture, and 2) in the design of molecular sensors for chemical analysis.
